Police are searching for a vehicle involved in a crash that injured a pedestrian and closed eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 in Cabell County for several hours early Tuesday.
The crash was reported about 5:45 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near Exit 15 and initially involved a tractor-trailer and another vehicle, according to a news release from the Barboursville Police Department.
Officers said the driver of the tractor-trailer was walking back to the other vehicle to check on that driver when the person was struck by a white Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound.
The driver of the Silverado is accused of leaving the scene and is currently being sought, the news release said. Police said the vehicle should be missing a side mirror.

The tractor-trailer driver was taken to a local hospital. Their condition was not available.
The roadway in the area has since reopened.

Eastbound Interstate 64 lanes near the Hal Greer exit were closed in the Huntington areaTuesday morning after dispatchers said a car and a tractor-trailer crashed.
Cabell County dispatchers said one man was hit in the incident. His condition is not known.
The 16th Street Exit and 29th eastbound on ramp were also closed. Lanes the in the area were reopened about 8:30 a.m.
Barboursville police were at the scene reconstructing the accident and are investigating the crash.
