SUMMERS COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A man was killed in a crash in Summers County on Monday, troopers said.

Billy Joe Willey Jr., 65, of Jumping Branch, W.Va., was killed in the crash, which was reported about 8:30 a.m. along Beech Run Road, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police.

Troopers said Willey’s pickup truck went off the roadway and struck a telephone pole. Willey was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash and what caused it remain under investigation.
