New 'Almost Heaven' swing installed at Valley Park in Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — One of the “Almost Heaven” swings that have popped up across West Virginia is now installed in Putnam County.

The new swing is located at Valley Park near the pond and disc golf area.

The wooden structures, made by students at the Nicholas County Career & Technical Center, have been installed at various scenic locations throughout the Mountain State as a way to boost tourism.

A spokesperson for the county said it was about a six month process between the application, build and installation of the swing.
