The Eyewitness News SkyTeam Drone was on location at the 97th State Fair of West Virginia in Lewisburg this week.
Kelly Collins president and chief executive officer of the fair, said the 10-day fair brings together some of the best of West Virginia.
“Whether you are here for the rides, food, concerts, shopping or just plain fun, there is something for all ages to enjoy," Collins said.
Entertainment includes daily performances at the U.S. Cellular Center stage. Fairgoers may enjoy events ranging from aerial stunts and acrobatics to glass blowing and blacksmith demonstrations. Auto enthusiasts may attend the annual car show while animal lovers will have multiple opportunities to learn about livestock.
Music fans will have plenty to look forward. The fair’s concerts will include national talent:
- Aug. 13 - Foreigner
- Aug. 14 - Clay Walker and Tracy Byrd
- Aug. 15 - Restless Road
- Aug. 16 - Kathy Mattea
- Aug. 17 - Chris Tomlin
- Aug. 18 - Zach Bryan and special guest Charles Wesley Godwin
- Aug. 20 - Walker Hayes with special guest Tigirlily
Saturdays - Aug. 13 and 20 - will feature fireworks displays starting at 10:30 p.m.
The fair is open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are $13 at the gate. Kids 10 and younger are free. Amusement ride passes are an additional $30.
Ticket specials run Monday through Wednesday. Admission is lowered to $7 after 4 p.m. for ages 11 and over on Aug. 16, 17 and 18. Special rates on tickets will be offered on the following dates:
- Aug. 15 - First Energy Magic Monday: $8 admission, ages 11 and over
- Aug. 15 - Discount Day Ride Special: $25 tickets
- Aug. 16 - Senior Citizens' Day: $7 admission for ages 55 and older
- Aug. 16 - All Day Ride Special: $20 tickets
- Aug. 17 - Early Bird Special: $1 admission until 2 p.m., ages 11 and over
- Aug. 17 - Military Discount Day: $7 admission with valid ID
